The provisions of the Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Act 2020 (DDSA 2020) come into effect on 6 April 2022 heralding significant changes to the procedure for applications for matrimonial and civil partnership orders, removing the need to prove fault or separation. When divorcing, the Applicant now has to state that the marriage has broken down irretrievably.
